TrailRunner 1.6 - Merry Leopard Feast

Berbie Software announces an update for TrailRunner 1.6, the outdoor oriented route planning and journaling software for Mac OS X.

Among other improvements, the latest update brings compatibility for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, an additional display of elevation contour lines printed over e.g. satellite images, a new map source for shaded terrain maps, a better integration for Polar rs200 SonicLink™ heart rate monitors and a rss feed being published along with the personal .Mac weblog.

TrailRunner integrates a wide range of GPS, mapping and workout related scopes into a simple to use application. These include a seamless integration with online services to display topographic maps, satellite photos and elevation data. Workout and geo visualization for Garmin ForeRunner and Edge devices. Native Apple + Nike iPod Sport Kit workout import. Export of route directions as NanoMaps for color iPods or cellphones. Import or export of GPX, KML and Polar HRM file formats.

Focused on users doing any kind of outdoor activities like running, biking, hiking or inline skating, TrailRunner offers automatic route calculation for a given distance and attractiveness, a workout diary, workout histograms and analysis tools for measured data like speed, ascent, heart-rate, personal aerobic zone and more. An integrated exercise plan can help improve the users base endurance in small and adaptive steps.

Other features are a .Mac weblog export to share routes and thoughts with an online community and a one click visualization of routes in GoogleEarth.

TrailRunner 1.6 is freeware but asks serendipitous users for a donation.

TrailRunner 1.4 - Plan and analyze your Workout Routes
