Use File › Export Route. It writes a GPX file you can put anywhere: onto a watch, into another app, or into a backup. File › Share Route hands the file to the system share sheet instead, for AirDrop, Mail or Messages.
Select several routes in the list and both commands work on all of them at once. Exporting more than one route asks you for a folder to write them into. Landmarks can be exported on their own too.
| The course of your route | Track Points — <trk> |
| The waypoints you placed while planning | Route Points — <rte> |
| Landmarks along the route | Way Points — <wpt> |
All three are written, so nothing is lost. Most devices read only the track points. That is why an exported route follows the right line on a watch that knows nothing about landmarks.
TrailRunner Mini does not talk to watches directly. The file is the interchange. That is also why it works with devices that did not exist when the route was planned.
Tip: if another planner cannot read your file, re-export it as GPX. GPX is the most widely understood format and the one to fall back on.
